La Paz is one of the most beautiful cities in America’s west coast. Its long history dates back to its foundation by Hernan Cortés in 1535, colonized by the Jesuits in the beginning of 1700. It has kept its peaceful character, access to the sea and fishing population ever since.

There’s a splendid 7 km long boardwalk where we can find several souvenir shops and international food restaurants, as well as bars and nightlife options. As the gateway to the world’s aquarium (the Sea of Cortez), it offers all sort of aquatic activities, such as diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, water skiing and the best options for adventure tourism in Mexico.

Among the most popular beaches in La Paz are Balandra, el Tecolote, el Tesoro, el Coromuel and Pichilingue, offering different services and landscapes for all sort of travelers.   1. Espiritu Santo Island:

In the boardwalk of La Paz or in El Tecolote Beach you’ll find different agencies that will take you on this unforgettable tour. On trips that last around 4-8 hours, depending on the provider, you’ll admire the fabulous marine fauna of the Sea of Cortez, as well as the geology of this magnificent natural reserve; you’ll enjoy virgin beaches where the crew will offer you some seafood and the chance of practicing snorkel surrounded by sea wolves. There are also options for camping if you’re interested in the whole experience.

The Espiritu Santo Island is habitat and shelter of different endemic species, such as the gray heron, red-tailed hawk and the back-tailed jackrabbit. There are also sea wolves and seals. Costa Baja Golf Club has the most luxurious services and facilities; Paraiso del Mar features impressive views and Bahia de los Sueños Golf & Beach Club represents a true challenge for the most experienced players as it combines an intimidating ground with spectacular ocean views.   1. Day Excursions from La Paz:

Located no more than two hours away from La Paz there are some of the most colorful places to visit, including Todos Santos, El Triunfo, San Antonio, San Bartolo, Santiago, Buena Vista and Los Barriles.

The narrowness of the southern peninsula offers the option of enjoying other fabulous beaches. Places like Cabo Pulmo, with its fascinating coral reefs or Cerritos, with its growing tourist offer for surfers.
